Various Twisted Questions

Maestro, Please
It is your worst nightmare. You are standing on a stage in front of a huge audience, about to play a long solo piece of music on a violin. The trouble is that you don't actually know how to play a violin. You are standing there with your violin and bow and everyone is waiting for you to begin. What do you do?
RE: reminds me...

RE: Well...ACTUALLY...
Lately, I've been trying to learn french horn. I bought this book that came with a CD. It has the first 58 etudes on it. It plays the song once with a horn (so you can play along) and then it plays just the cheesy accompanment once...sounds stupid, but it's really kind of fun. I think I'll have to buy the other set of CDs for 59 to the end. Oh yeah, my point was, I could just buy one of those for violin...

I like your plan.
Last time when I was on a date, one of my friends said she'd call me in an hour or so, and if I needed to bail, I could just use the excuse she gave me, but I was having a good time, so I turned off my phone. Maybe I could get her cooperation to call me during that concert... "Sorry, I have to leave, my roommate just set the couch on fire" (we have had some couch burning incidents in my parts)

RE: Razzle-Dazzle
*takes a bow* - Why thank you, Kind sir. Being that you offered such kind words, I'm willing to return the "sweetness" by sharing my Hershey bar with ya! *LOL* No, seriously, though - I know it wasn't at this site, but when you mentioned the smell of "Hersheytown" (grins) - I got this new "thang" and I go to the corner store about twice a week for no other purpose than to get a Hershey bar -- and I kid you not, Kind Sir, I think of you and smile with each bite. *LOL* I doubt if I'll ever see another Hershey Bar and NOT wonder what Perambulate is doing in that moment. *LOL* -- I get this vision of you (no face or form, just the energy) standing on a corner next to a chocolate factory. *LOL* *LOL* Okay, enough horsing around and back to reality for me! :)

WILD deafening applause from the audience...followed by many flowers of gratitude from your most loyal fans....Bravisimo!!!

Madame, you are truly an artist

Wendi, my favorite type of artists have real character, are offbeat, wonderfully weird, eccentric, brilliant but erratic :)

PS: thinking outside the box is the only way to be...hehehehehe

RE: Razzle-Dazzle
I'm like Perambulate in that I'd ad lib, but rather than aiming for comic relief, I'd likely come up with some impromptu poem regarding artistic freedom and the boundaries of music, thereby justifying my performance as a "far out" experience from an "eccentric soul" -- those types are always exused for the unexplainable or incomprehensible. *LOL* I would include in my poem statements like, "drawing outside of the lines, thinking out of the box," and, "Marching to the beat of your own drum." I might throw in a bit of song and dance to boot, but nothing well coreographed or "definable" -- that way, the dance and music match the chaotic lack of direction coming through the sounds of the violin. At best, they'd like my makeshift performance -- at worse, they'd think me a freak and chalk the whole thing off.
